Every year, 20 November is kept as the Regimental Day (Cambrai Day) throughout the Royal Tank Regiment to commemorate the Battle of Cambrai in which the Royal Tank Regiment played such an outstanding part.
It begins with "Gunfire", tea laced with rum is served to the soldiers in bed by the Officers and Senior NCO's. There is usually a Church Service followed by lunch in the Regimental Restaurant again served to the soldiers by the Officer's and Senior NCO's. This is followed by an inter squadron football match.
In the evening there is normally an all ranks function.
